Today I’m proud and honored to announce my appointment to the Board of Advisors for Veterans 360. Their mission is to provide young, recently-separated combat veterans with a program of support that will help them develop the professional and interpersonal skills needed to succeed in civilian life. The goal of this worthwhile organization is to use engagement, education, employment, and healing to help our student-veterans utilize what they have learned to manage the resources that are available to them and become better equipped to ensure a successful transition into civilian life.

My pet project will be, of course, Cloud for Vets. This program will educate young veterans about the emerging cloud computing sector so they can get good paying entry level jobs ($50-$60K) and then work toward becoming Cloud Technology leaders. Vets 360 currently provides the support network and healing components and Cloud for Vets will add the important education component! Better yet, Veterans 360 has California state approval to provide these classes free of charge to  veterans.

The average entry salary in cloud technology is $67,000 and estimates indicate that there will be 1.2 million jobs in cloud technology in the next few years. Cloud for Vets will work toward addressing that demand by certifying up to 40 student-veterans each and every month.

I am pumped about this program and look forward to sharing more with you in the near future!
