In keeping with their mission to support young combat veterans’ transition into civilian life, Veterans 360 plans to launch a free Cloud Technology Certification training program.
Vets360-Cloud will give veterans of all ages the opportunity to obtain meaningful employment in the Cloud Technology industry. Cloud computing is quickly emerging as one of the most in-demand skills in IT. The rapid transition from traditional Information Technology to Cloud Technology has created a demand for IT professionals with cloud computing skills. Veterans 360 recognizes this growing demand and has reported that 43 percent of all companies are having difficulty finding cloud computing professionals and 42 percent have hired professionals specifically with cloud IT skills. They also recognize the need for the inclusion of cloud computing in 79 percent of the syllabuses at higher education institutions.
In collaboration with the California Workforce Investment Board and Sylvan Learning, Veterans 360-Cloud will provide free training classes to all veterans from the San Diego area. Virtual accreditation classes will be offered to non-qualified ETPL students, corporate clients and IT professionals on a fee based schedule.
The Veterans 360-Cloud certification training program offers two career qualification levels.
The Cloud Essentials qualification level prepares the student for an entry level position on a cloud team with a starting salary of $62,000 a year. The following accreditations are earned:
·         The Cloud Essentials Accreditation,
·         The Cloud Visualization Accreditation
·         The Cloud Master Level 1 Accreditation
The Cloud Professional qualification level gives the student the ability to manage a cloud team at an average salary of $112,000 a year. In addition, the student is qualified to provide cloud consulting and training services. This levels awards the following accreditations:
·         Cloud Master Level 2 Accreditation
·         Cloud Guru Accreditation
The Vets 360-Cloud program prepares students for certification from the Cloud Certification Council® and the National Cloud Technologist Association. The Cloud Credential Council®(CCC) is “the international industry representation body mandated to develop and drive alignment of standards training and certification for individuals in the cloud computing domain.” A Cloud Certification Council® certificate validates one’s cloud computing skills and significantly enhances an IT professional’s value and resume. The first six-week session of the Veteran 360-Cloud training program prepares students for a CCC Cloud Technology Associate certificate. The second six-week session prepares students for a CCC Cloud Technology Professional advanced certificate. The National Cloud Technologist Association (NCTA) is an association of cloud computing experts that offers cloud computing training via a flipped classroom model where students watch videos online, read course material online ahead of the class and interact with experts that work hands on with students. Students that complete the entire twelve week course of study are awarded both the CloudMASTER and CloudGURU certifications from the NCTA.
The Veterans 360 program enables young combat veterans to gain meaningful employment by providing them with the skills, education, and support needed to get their foot in the door. In addition, the program focuses on the overwhelming transition from the military combat life to a successful civilian life.
